Name layers for the next person: you
Use names that describe the purpose of a layer, such as background shapes or lettering sketch. Group related layers when the document becomes difficult to navigate. Avoid relying only on color labels that you may forget.
Before a major revision, save a separate version with a clear filename. Keep the editable source as well as any exported image. An export may not preserve the layers needed for later changes.
At the end of a session, leave a short note about the next step. Opening a file should tell you where to continue, rather than requiring you to reconstruct yesterday’s decisions.
